Next Event, September 22nd Happy Hour

As the alumni network continues to expand in the DC metro area as well as the Baltimore area we have taken your feedback and are introducing our new social networking series called, “In Your Neighborhood”.

The first of these events will take place in Annapolis, MD. Join us on Thursday, September 22 at Mike’s Crabhouse from 5-8 p.m. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for alums in this area to connect, socialize and network.  Sign-up online or by calling 877.784.3566.

Welcome To Baltimore, Elon Alumni!

Welcome to Baltimore, Elon Alumni! For graduates, new and old, we are having our annual welcome to the city event this year again at Riverside Park in Baltimore! Our annual crab feast is a great time to get together to meet new alumni in the area on September 10th at 3 pm. Enjoy a few of the things that makes Baltimore great including steamed crabs and lots of Elon Alumni!

Class of 2011 alumni are invited to attend the event free; for other alums the cost is $20 per individual. RSVP online or by calling 877.784.3566. Don’t forget to check the Baltimore Facebook group to see who else might be attending.

Join us as we cruise the Severn River!

Join the Baltimore chapter for a sunset boat cruise on the Severn hosted by John Hill ’76. We will meet Tuesday, July 19 at 5:30 p.m. but no later than 5:45 p.m. at the Forked Creek Yacht Club in Severna Park. Cast off will be at 6 p.m. During the cruise light snacks and beverages will be provided as well as the beautiful twilight views of the Servern River and catching up with fellow Elon alums!

Spots are limited so sign up today online or by calling 877.784.3566. Participants are encouraged to bring a light sweater/jacket as it sometimes gets cool on the water.

Join Us May 7th at Oriole Park

In just a few weeks, we will watching the Orioles in Birdland. Come down and watch the Birds take on Tampa Bay with your fellow alumni from the cheap seats in centerfield!

The first pitch will be at 1:10 p.m. Plan to take advantage of the special rate $17 tickets; they can be purchased through Elon Web Services until April 30. This will be a great opportunity for a fun outing and catching up with Elon alumni in the area at the same time.

Moveable Feast Service Event: April 16th

We hope that you will be able to join this coming weekend, April 16th for our Moveable Feast service event! We will be packing and putting meals together starting at 10 am on Saturday and will be there for a few hours. It’s a great event and we will be helping @moveable_feast for the 3rd time. Sign up for the Elon Career Network

A great way to find a job or help graduating students to find a job is to sign up for the Elon Career Network (ECN). The ECN is a Career Services tool that connects students, alumni, and parents through a search-able database of different details that each individual’s inputs. From the Career Services website,

ECN allows Elon students to connect with alumni and parents who are willing to share their career experiences and advice. Our goal is create a network of  individuals representing a diversity of career and educational paths who can provide practical information about career options and job/internship opportunities.

This is a great way to connect with others when looking for a job, so check it out today! Also, if you are have employment opportunities, check out the Elon Job Network (EJN) and help Elon students and alumni get employed!

Upcoming Events!

Check out our events for the next couple months. We hope you will join us for one or several of these events!
Join local alumni for an event at the National Aquarium for Fridays after Five on March 18. Our tour will begin at 5:30 p.m.  and will be followed by a social at Howl at the Moon.
The National Aquarium is home to more than 660 species of animals and includes exhibits on Australian animals, amphibians, birds, fish, invertebrates, mammals and reptiles.
Tickets are $10 and include a tour of the aquarium and post-event social; they can be purchased through Elon Web Services until Tuesday, March 15. Guests of alumni are welcome to attend. For any questions, call (877) 784-3566. We will meet at 5:30 p.m. in front of the aquarium to pick up the tickets and begin the tour.
The National Aquarium is located at 501 E Pratt St in Baltimore. Howl at the Moon is located at 34 Market Street in Baltimore.
In April, we we will be holding a service event at Moveable Feast. We will return to Moveable Feast for a food packing event on April 16th.  This is a great event that we participate each fall, but have expanded it to the spring as well! This May, join us for the beginning of an exciting Baltimore Orioles baseball season! As Buck’s Birds return to the yard, we will be there cheer them on on Saturday, May 7th in the early afternoon. The Birds will take on the Tampa Bay Rays as we cheer for the home team in the bleachers of Oriole Park at Camden Yards. More details to come in the near future!

Join us at the Walters Art Museum This Saturday

Join the Baltimore alumni chapter as we gather for an exciting tour of The Walters Art Museum!

The Walters Art Museum is internationally renowned for its collection of art, which was amassed substantially by two men, William and Henry Walters, and eventually bequeathed to the City of Baltimore. The collection presents an overview of world art from pre-dynastic Egypt to 20th-century Europe, and counts among its many treasures Greek sculpture and Roman sarcophagi; medieval ivories and Old Master paintings; Art Deco jewelry and 19th-century European and American masterpieces.

The group will meet at 12 p.m. Saturday, February 19 inside the museum to sign up for a guided tour.

The Walters is located at 600 North Charles Street.
